Immigration Reform Under the Obama Administration - Participation in a panel Discussion at Pace Law School in White Plains, NY on April 17, 2009 discussing prospects for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Delivered brief overview of employment-context reform efforts/proposals, and was quoted in Leah Rae's Article on LoHud.com "Immigration Lawyers Mull Chances of Legalizing Millions."


Intersection of Immigration and Corporate/Business Law - Compliance Issues Under U.S. Immigration Law - Delivered at a February 23, 2009 continuing legal education seminar at the New York County Lawyer's Association (NYCLA), this presentation provides an updated overview of the I-9 process and requirements (including the new I-9 form and M-274 Handbook for Employers set to go into effect April 2, 2009), the discrimination issues which the employer must avoid in completing the I-9 process, an overview of as well as the current status of the Social Security No-Match Regulation, and information on when employer can and must terminate an employee for ineligibility to accept employment.
