12/6/2007 - Write Your Representatives and Senators to Urge Them Not To Co-Sponsor or Support the "SAVE Act"

The Secure America with Immigration and Enforcement bill was introduced in November 2007 in both the House and Senate, and is yet another enforcement-only bill without any provision for assisting the millions here and abroad without any pathway in existing law to obtain valid immigration status, or to assist American businesses which desperately need qualified and willing workers in order to remain competitive.

The "SAVE Act" would dramatically expand the Basic Pilot electronic employment verification system (a burdensome system in which few employers have chosen to participate), would increase the Border Patrol while expending more resources on the southern border, codify DHS regulations related to the Social Security Administration "no match" letters which have already been suspended by the court and expand the responsibilities of already overburdened local police to include immigration enforcement.

Let your Senators and Representative know that you don't support this waste of resources, especially without any mention of immigration relief for American business and hard-working foreign nationals who want to follow the law, if there were only a law they could follow. Bottom Line:

Enforcement-only measures such as the SAVE Act are the lowest form of political pandering, and do nothing to solve the real problems facing the U.S.
